Dick Casey became the Newport Town Manager on April 2, 2007. He retired from the United States Air Force as a brigadier general in 2004 and served as the McKean County, Pennsylvania, County Administrator from July, 2004 until assuming his current position with Newport.
The Town Manager is the chief administrator of the town. He is responsible for directing and supervising the administration of all departments, offices and agencies of the town. He reports directly to the Town Council in carrying out the daily operations of the Town government. He performs all duties assigned by the Council, including the preparation and submission of the annual budget.
The Manager can be reached at the Town Hall building at 200 Howard Blvd. You may reach the manager by phone at (252) 223-4749 or make an appointment by calling the Town Clerk at the same number.
It is preferable that town business be conducted at the office rather than at his residence. For emergencies, please call the town hall or the police department, who are better equipped to handle the situation
