    Here at the Newport Public Works Department we serve many functions within the Town of Newport. We provide maintenance of all of the municipal buildings and grounds within the town. The maintenance of the town's streets is also our responsibility. The Public Works Department also provides yard debris pick up. We are involved with storm water management and the maintenance of the town's many ditches. Our mosquito program strives to provide a safer environment for our citizens through larvaciding, adulticiding, and education.

Garbage Collection

The Town contracts with Waste Industries Co., to provide weekly curbside garbage collection on Tuesdays. The cost for residential services is $15.00 per month. Waste Industries will service a maximum of three 35-gallon containers at each residence. You may rent or purchase a 90 gallon wheeled cart from Waste Industries. Or you can purachse your own cans from someone elese. Any consistant overage will be bill as a second stop.

This fee will show on your water bill. This fee also covers weekly Wednesday yard debris pickup and bi-monthly collection of recyclables.

Commercial Customers will negotiate their needs with the town manager and Waste Industries on an as-needed basis.

Construction Disposal

Construction and demolition debris removal is the responsibility of the homeowner. If you are planning a large remodeling project please call Waste Industries and make arrangements for a container.
